The event took place on September 10, 2022 and was held at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Diaz was originally meant to be headlining the event with Khamzat Chimaev, however after Chimaev failed to make the correct weight, Diaz ended up headlining in a bout against Tony Ferguson in the welterweight division. 

The Main Card fight between Diaz and Ferguson lasted four rounds, during which Diaz was deemed the victor via submission – winning his last fight in the sport.
