Urijah Faber, known as "The California Kid," is a retired American mixed martial artist and a key figure in the UFC's bantamweight division. Born on May 14, 1979, in Isla Vista, California, Faber made a significant impact in the UFC with his explosive fighting style, blending high-level wrestling with striking and submissions.  

He was a top contender in the bantamweight division, consistently challenging for the title and taking on some of the best fighters in the sport. Faber's charisma and relentless fighting spirit made him a fan favourite, and even after retiring, he remains influential in the UFC as a coach and mentor, leading Team Alpha Male, a top MMA training camp known for producing elite fighters. 

The UFC 194 event was hugely successful for Urijah Faber, fighting on the undercard of the huge title fight between Jose Also and Conor McGregor. Urijah Faber showed his class fighting against a dangerous opponent in Frankie Saenz, the fight was a close contest between the two after a cagey start. The close affair lasted the entire fight as neither man could end the fight early, this resulted in the judge’s decision who favoured on side of the “The California Kid” as he won by unanimous decision.
